The Perfect Red - Mac Ruby Woo Lipstick

I have wanted Ruby Woo for ages and every time I went to the counter to Back To Mac it, it was ALWAYS sold out. I can understand why, its the perfect red in my opinion. This was the kind of red that I expected in the Marilyn collection and was surprised not to see it, but I get it now because nothing (and I mean nothing) in my collection compares to this beautiful colour.

Every women needs the perfect red that makes them feel sexy every time they put it on. I am still stunned at the amount of people that comment on this lipstick every time I wear it from people in the shops to even my work colleagues.

Ruby Woo is a matte finish (YAH!!) but it is the old Mac Matte formula. I don't understand why they bring out all of these new limited edition mattes in the gorgeous new formula that isn't drying at all and yet they still create this lipstick in the dry old matte formula? At first I thought I might have had an old batch and then I compared the batch codes, to see Party Parrot with 2011 Batch Code and Ruby Woo with 2012 Batch Code. That is the only thing I can pick with this lipstick that I don't like, so instead all I do is make sure my lips are coated in balm thick while I am doing the rest of my face so my lips are fully moisturized before I apply it.

Swatch Time!

RUBY WOO - Blue based red, 100% true red and not a speck of shimmer or sparkle. Its a matte finish and  has amazing pigmentation.

Swatched here against Party Parrot and Scarlet Ibis, both being the new matte formula and you can definitely see that it is alot more drier than the others. Party Parrot is alot more pink against Ruby Woo and Scarlet Ibis is more orange

Ruby Woo is part of the Mac Permanent line and you can also pick it up in the Back To Mac recycling program.

Peace and Love,
