Review and Swatches - Maybelline COLOUR Sensational 'Vivids'

I love a good bright lip as much as I am sure a lot of you are aware, I love the feeling of even if I am wearing a neutral eye that I still have something 'bold and bright' about my look. I have also always been more favoring towards bright mattes more so than any other finish, which is why you might think it is surprising I am reviewing these Maybelline Vivids right? Well I like to be honest in my blog posts on any product that I try and these are something I just had to share and why you wonder? BECAUSE THEY ROCK!!

Maybelline already has a line of COLOUR Sensational lipsticks that you can find at various Pricelines, Department Stores and Chemists but these my friends are new. Vivids is a collection of new colours with a really wow factor. They are super bright and fun, making them perfect for the summer we are experiencing right now. They are really nourishing on the lips and in a way reminded me of the Revlon Lip Butters but just not as 'buttery'. I guess the best way to describe the texture is that they are really creamy and soft. You have to be really careful when you are applying these because they are soft they have a tendency to move in the tube and can leave a slight dent in the lipstick itself.

The colour payoff is intense and it doesn't take long to build it up at all. I do have a lip piercing and you know how much I hate wearing a lip product that leaves the imprint of my lip ring in my top lip (LIME CRIME!!!) and I love that even though these are so soft, I don't have that problem. When you remove them at the end of the day, your lips feel smooth like you have had balm on all day. I do have to touch these up after each meal, but I tend to get around 2.5 - 3hrs wear out of them before they start to look like they need a touch up if applied without pencil and primer. They wear even better with pencil and lip primer.

Swatch Time!!

Maybelline Vivids - Pink Pop, Fuchsia Flash, Vivid Rose, Hot Plum, Shocking Coral, Vibrant Mandarin & Neon Red

PINK POP - Soft Baby Pink, reminded me a lot of Lime Crimes Great Pink Planet
FUCHSIA FLASH - Like the name says, a hot fuchsia that leans a little more towards purple! A very similar dupe for Mac's Candy Yum Yum!
VIVID ROSE - This is similar to Fuchsia Flash, but it is more on the pink and warmer side so it is very similar to Mac's Pink Pigeon.
HOT PLUM - The more intense purple fuchsia of the bunch, but not as purple as Mac's Strong Women or Mac's Heroine but similar along the lines of Mac's Violetta, just not as dark.
SHOCKING CORAL - By far my favourite of the bunch! A beautiful pinky coral colour that reminded me of a more peach version of Mac Viva Glam Nicky 1 on me.
VIBRANT MANDARIN - A really pretty orange, that leans towards red. It is very similar to Mac's Party Parrot.
NEON RED - Beautiful red that leans towards the orange side of the colour spectrum. This one reminds me of the Mac Scarlet Ibis.

These are starting to show up around Australia at Pricelines and other Department Stores. Keep your eyes out for these because every time I have seen them in store, literally all that is left is the testers and the price tags. I think that shows you how popular and good these are!

What do you think of these? Any colours that grab your fancy?

Peace and Love,

    2. Finally they arrived in Europe (not yet in Italy), but in only 5 colors: Hot Plum, Fuchsia Flash, Shocking Coral (I've ordered these 3), Neon Red and Electric Orange. I really wanted Vivid Rose, but this is it, whatever! Can't wait to have them here!

  4. Love these, and I think I'm especially in love with Rose, Plum and Coral, simply because they would suit my colouring better.

I may just wait for a sale and then go crazy!
