Review and Swatches - Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner Pen

Liquid Eyeliner is one of those essential must have items that everyone needs in their stash, especially if you have a love for winged liner like me. Using a liquid liner like Maybelline Master Precise, makes learning to master the art of perfect winged liner every time even easier before heading to gel liners and angled brushes. I featured this product in my Get Ready With Me Valentines Video and also my initial reaction to the product when I first showed it in my Haul Bag Video. Now I think its time to get down to the nitty gritty and review the bad boy hey!

I have always used Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner simply because it is effective, but the price here in Australia is $42 so you can imagine that if I ran out and had to run down to Mecca to purchase a backup it got rather pricey (I normally purchased that product online). The very first time I tried this eyeliner, I didn't have a great experience with it. It was dry and wasn't the best pigmentation so it really took alot to build up any decent colour payoff. I noticed around the traps the rave reviews this product was getting again, so I decided for the tiny price of under $12 I could give it another shot.

This is a slim pen like liquid liner, with a tip of the pen being flat. Alot of liquid liners I have noticed have always been rounded but having the tip flat like this makes creating the perfect wing every time, EASY AS!

I have used this nearly every day since I have purchased it, for my top lash line (so we are talking 5 weeks straight). Of course when you open a liquid liner the colour is always intensely black and brand new so its really easy to use. By the 2nd week, I noticed that the colour was starting to fade only a little and I had to pack more product on to get that intense black winged line I like. By week 3 it was starting to dry up and by week 4-5 it is all but gone. I have top winged liner every day (thick and dramatic) but I don't use this on my waterline.

Now I do like the price point of this product, I find it acceptable that it runs out after 5 weeks from using it every day. I have seen it around various Pricelines, Supermarkets and Department Stores from $10-$13 (not on special) so I think that is extremely affordable for something that has to be replaced every 4-5 weeks depending.

Swatches -

As you can see by this swatch on my arm, this product is an intense matte black. This swatch was done in 1 swipe across my arm when I first purchased the product.

I think I am going to keep purchasing this liner, it is so much more affordable than my Stila Pen here in Australia. I like that its easy to use from beginner to master at creating perfect winged liner every time.

I would love to hear from anyone that uses this Liquid Liner as well, or any other recommendations?

Peace and Love,

  1. I like using these type eyeliner pens but I'm hopeless with the ones that have thin tips on them I find the more felt tip pen like one easier for me to use currently I love the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eyeliner Pen :)

    1. I have used the Revlon one previously. I liked it but I find that this one is more intense black.
